James Kimble, also known as “Double Dutch”, is a sculptor that lives in Savannah, Georgia. Throughout his life, he has always worked with his hands in the military and as a car mechanic. When he moved to Savannah, his craftsmanship translated into his passion for exhibiting “The Black Holocaust Museum” outside of his house. He creates life size paper mache sculptures based on the untold stories of the slaves coming to America. He believes that in Savannah there is a lot of misinterpretation and not enough emphasis on the true stories that took place here hundreds of years ago. My goal was to share his expression of history and to bring his work to the eyes of people that would otherwise, never see it.
